Dan Dovidio is a 9th Degree Black Belt and Sensei of the Londonderry, NH Dojo. He began Uechi training in 1975 under the tutelage of Buzz Durkin. For years he ran the very popular Granite State Open. Mr. Dovidio is a tournament champion who has competed in Okinawa. He is an expert in the practical usage of pressure points and has a deep knowledge of how they apply to Uechi Kata and Bunkai.

When you look at the makeup of your style, there is so much more to it than the face value of the movements. As someone that studies their art, one should be constantly finding these gems in places you would not expect. Some are hidden in plain sight and these movements and interpretations are endless in your lifelong study of the Martial Arts.
When we first start training we are working on ourselves to learn the movements, and to make them second nature. There are two parts of the equation when it comes to self-defense. There is your knowledge and proficiency of your studies, and the opponent’s physical makeup. How does one exploit this human weakness to give you that edge in any confrontation? We will touch on both sides of this equation and so much more.
