10th Dan Grandmaster - Goju-Ryu

Hanshi Ron Martin started his martial arts career in 1962 when he was in the United States Air Force. He is now a Judan, 10th Degree Black Belt, in Goju-Ryu Karate-Do. Mr. Martin was formerly the senior student of the legendary O' Sensei Chuck Merriman who coached the very first United States Karate Team - which Sensei Martin was the captain of.

Mr. Martin toured the world with Mr. Merriman competing and performing in over 60 different countries. They demonstrated for the Queen of England at Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden in New York, at the Oriental World of Self-Defense before twenty thousand people, and on national television. He was one of the top tournament point fighters in the United States in the late sixties and early seventies. He was a two-time Canadian National Champion and a two-time Pan American Champion.

He has produced many national and international champions during the span of his career. Mr. Martin continues to teach his art at the eight different Shidokan USA Dojo in the New England area.
