Sid Werthan is a Martial Artist, Artist and Philosopher. A constant student as well as a teacher of martial Doctrine for 30 years and the owner of Moonlit Path Martial Arts (moonlitpathma.com) in Branford, CT. Sid is a 6th Dan senior master in Chon-Tu Kwan Hapkido and a 4th Dan in Tang Soo Do and holds Sa Bom titles in Both Arts. He holds a black belt in Uechi-Ryu and is a member of the I.U.K.F.

Sid is also a Guru in Modern Arnis. He has significant training in Genbu -Kai Shito-ryu and Kobudo with Sensei Fumio Demura, as well as Ryu-Te Shotokan, Judo, weapons and firearms. He is a certified C.P.S./ E.P. Agent (Training at E.S.I. in Colorado). And an (I.P.D.T.I.) police defensive tactics instructor.He travels the world with an open heart and mind in order to study and learn from wonderful and enlightened teachers.

Sid has traveled to Japan, Okinawa and Korea to train; as well as North and South America, Europe, the Carribean Islands and Iceland.

Sid would like to share the insight he has gained mixing and combining the movements, theory and energies of the Hapki/Aiki arts with his love of Uechi-Ryu. Specifically the amazing Wa-Uke block and its ability to trap, isolate and deliver the limbs of an attacker into joint locks following the circular movement initiated by the wa-uke itself.
